Freeform Text Field- Route 42 Tour

$35.00

“You are Route 42, drifting before me, in a haze of smoldering, acrid tobacco, effortless, as I pray…”

Freeform Text Field (FTF) exclusively plays venues near small towns dotted along US state routes. The premise is simple: audience members follow a QR code and type genres, themes, and lyric snippets. The band creates and plays songs based on these inputs, live. Concerts are broadcast simultaneously on YouTube.

“It’s just easier for us”, xylophonist and lead singer Zephe Groggin told the Columbus Dispatch. “The pressure to perform at speed kills that little editor in your head. Doing it live, organically, there is a flow to it. And if there’s a mistake, there’s a mistake. That’s the human part of the whole show.”
